Welcome to this little piece of cyberspace dedicated to Devon Lions FC, Devon's first and only advertised LGBT-friendly football club.

Originally formed in 2009 as Exeter Lions FC, and now called Devon Lions FC the club was started to provide Gay (and Hetrosexual) Men and Women with an opportunity to play football in a non-judgmental environment and make new friends along the way.

We currently have members from Exeter, East Devon, Plymouth, Torquay, Newton Abbot and Ashburton. We welcome players of all ages, abilities and sexuality so why not come along and meet us!

Training Sessions:

Every Wednesday - TRAINING SESSION: 8:15 pm meet for 8:30 pm kick off (MAP)

Every Sunday - MATCH: 11 a side match (fixture dependent)

Our home games are played at either Newton Abbot or Ashburton.

If we do not have a match to play on Sundays we still get together and play a
game on the rubber crumb or astro turf artificial pitches at Ashburton (MAP).

John O'Flynn

New role for O'Flynn

EXETER City Football Club striker John O'Flynn will take on a new role this Sunday.

O'Flynn, in his role as Exeter FC's One Game One Community (OGOC) ambassador, will run a training session for players from the Devon Lions football team on Sunday 11th December at St James School in Exeter.

The Devon Lions are Devon's first and only gay-friendly football team.  The team represent Devon in the Gay National friendly league.

The training session, which will be held in the city, has been organised by Exeter City's OGOC group, which operates under the umbrella of Exeter City's Supporter's Trust.

This year the Kick it Out - One Game One Community match will be Saturday 22nd October when Exeter City face Rochdale, and will be supported by volunteers from the Exeter Lions Club.

DEVON Lions Football Club, proudly sponsored by Devon and Cornwall Police, are Devon's first and only gay-friendly football team.  The Lions kick off their campaign in the Gay Football Supporter Network (GFSN) National League on Saturday 22nd October, with a home game against Saltire (Glasgow) Thistle.  This has been transferred from Plymouth to Exeter as this game now forms part of the Exeter City FC’s involvement in the One Game One Community ‘Kick it Out’ week– part of the national drive to banish all forms of prejudice from the game.



Kick It Out is a national organisation aimed at ending Racism and other prejudice in the game.  Exeter City vs Rochdale, on Saturday 22nd October at St James Park (3pm Kick Off) is their designated KIO game and volunteers from Exeter City, Devon Lions and Saltire will be there to raise awareness of the issues of prejudice still prevalent in football.  The Exeter City game will follow the keenly-contested game between Devon and Glasgow that morning in Exeter for which a suitable venue is currently being sought and will be announced later.
